The independent television channel ‘Dozhd’ (TV Rain) has relocated to a new studio in the Moscow design center Flacon. The station says it will soon resume live broadcasting, which ceased last weekend.

Maria Makeeva will anchor the daily news, and Tikhon Dzyadko will present the final newscast at 9 p.m. Over the next several days, our studio will be very noisy, and we ask your forgiveness in advance for the background interference to come.

For the first four years of its existence, TV Rain broadcast from a studio in the Krasny Oktyabr business center.

In January 2014, following a controversially worded survey about the Siege of Leningrad, TV Rain became the target of an attack campaign by the authorities. In March 2014, the station’s landlord decided to terminate its lease with the station. Documents published by the data-leaking group Anonymous International show that members of the Kremlin may have played a role in the attack on TV Rain.

After the station lost its rental agreement and was forced to share office space with Snob, an online journal located in the same business center. In December 2014, Snob asked TV Rain to vacate its premises, leading the television station to set up shop temporarily in a private apartment.
