Before the negotiations in Minsk about resolving the Ukrainian conflict got underway yesterday, cameras caught a brief struggle between Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin—over a chair. Putin pulled up a chair, just as Lukashenko pulled it back, nearly sending Putin to the floor.
In the end, Putin had to give in and wait for his seat, as Lukashenko finished his conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
