Whose headline is it anyway? Try to separate stories by ‘Russia Today’ and ‘Democracy Now!’

The Russian government's efforts to utilize the news media to further its domestic and foreign policy aims are no secret. The Kremlin-owned television station and website Russia Today (later rebranded as RT) has been around for nearly a decade now, and the network’s attempts to challenge and revise the narratives found in the West’s mainstream news media are well documented. Many in the US, for instance, have come to fear the influence of outlets like RT, worrying that its broadcasts poison the American information stream. But how unique is it really? In the United States, RT’s news coverage is often very similar to well-established progressive, leftist publications, like Democracy Now! which has aired primarily on the radio since 1996. Can you tell the difference between Russia Today headlines and Democracy Now! headlines?
