Cannes Festival organizing committee promises to go after Russian website selling tickets for thousands of Euros
The organizers of the Cannes Film Festival have begun looking into a Russian-based website that offers tickets to screenings, parties, and other festival events for thousands of Euros. The head of the festival’s registration bureau emphasized to RBC that the site is “absolutely illegal.”
Cannes-tickets.com claims to offer tickets to the festival’s opening ceremony for 3,915 euros ($4,406) and up, screening tickets for 2,601 euros ($2,927) and up, and tickets to a Vanity Fair party for 5,955 euros ($6,702) and up. The site asserts that its agents purchase “official tickets” for customers. It does not list the name of the firm or the individuals who run it.
