Head of the Moscow Journalists' Union says his newspaper will fight the media's boycott on State Duma reporting

Source: Meduza

Pavel Gusev, the head of the Moscow Journalists’ Union and the chief editor of the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets, has condemned the boycott and vowed to increase his paper’s reporting presence inside the State Duma, to offset the reporters recalled from other outlets.

Gusev says the Duma is “one of the most interesting sources of information for journalistic investigations.” On the other hand, he says he’s ready to “support fully” any appeals to police by the journalists who say Slutsky harassed them.

No journalists have filed criminal charges, however, in light of the fact that sexual harassment is not illegal in Russia.
