Rumor has it that Sergey Lavrov might step down as Russian foreign minister

Source: Meduza

Multiple sources tell the television station RTVI that Sergey Lavrov plans to step down as Russian Foreign Minister, as Vladimir Putin reshuffles his cabinet. He’s reportedly tired of the job, which he’s held since 2004. For 10 years before that, Lavrov served as Russia’s permanent representative to the UN.

A source reportedly close to Lavrov says he’ll probably take an “honorary post,” like a seat on Russia’s National Security Council. It’s still unclear who would replace Lavrov.
