The online community Dissernet has compiled a list of all the candidates now running for seats in the State Duma who are guilty of plagiarizing their senior theses in college. The group says it's discovered 33 candidates who cheated in school. Ten of these individuals are running in the ruling political party, United Russia, eight are members of A Just Russia, five are from the Communist Party, four are from the Labor Party, three are from the opposition party Yabloko, two are from a minor communist party, and one is from the opposition party Parnas.

According Dissernet, one of the three candidates from Yabloko accused of plagiarism is no longer running in the election. (The party's founder, Grigory Yavlinsky, said on August 25 that five candidates were removed from the ticket for academic misconduct.)

Andrew Zayakin, one of the founders of Dissernet, is also running for the State Duma as a member of Yabloko.
