Police have found the car used by Nemtsov’s killers

Police have found the car used in the murder of Boris Nemtsov. According to the television channel REN, the vehicle was located not far from the scene of the crime. It remains unclear where exactly the car was found

Investigators and forensics experts are on the scene, looking for DNA evidence and fingerprints that might help identify the killers.

Just before midnight on February 27, opposition politician Boris Nemtsov was shot and killed in Moscow. He was one of the most prominent Russian politicians of the early 1990s and 2000s. After serving as governor of the Nizhniy Novgorod region from 1991 to 1997, he was at one time vetted to be President Boris Yeltsin's potential successor. Nemtsov was also a long time leader of the liberal opposition party Union of Right Forces.

A memorial march will take place in downtown Moscow on Sunday, March 1. It has been sanctioned by city officials.

Nemtsov will be buried in Moscow on Tuesday, March 3.
