Police have opened two criminal cases following public unrest that involved more than 100 migrants assembling at a Moscow shopping center, demanding retribution against security guards who reportedly beat up a Tajikistani freight handler working at the mall.
Riot police intervened and prevented a mass brawl between migrant and the shopping center’s security staff. Officers detained more than 90 people in the incident. The freight handler has been hospitalized in critical condition.
